Like an Ocean Print

Like an Ocean is inspired by what it feels like to be in a period of grief. I know I have feared that if I let myself feel my sadness I'd drown in it and not be able to feel happy again. But, the reality I've found is that while grief is heavy and can pierce your heart when you least expect it to hit, what is "Like an Ocean" to me is the sea of love, "I see you" words, and willingness to show up from my community that has also been apparent in seasons of grief. Painted into the waves of this painting are some of those encouraging words that have helped to carry me through hard times.
